We received a record 69 applications (NSW 26, QLD 10, SA 11, WA 9, VIC 11, TAS 2) that were blindfold auditioned by our co-AD’s Nadje Noordhuis NY & Mace Francis WA.

The application process was overseen, anonymised and processed by Tom Voss SA.

The standard of these submissions was absolutely phenomenal; we wish we had enough chairs to accept you all! Congratulations to those musicians that have been selected and heartfelt commiserations for those that weren't.

If you weren’t successful this time around, please remember that many of the ANJO Youth alumni weren’t accepted in their first attempt. 2025 was the first year we didn’t have any members from the inaugural band auditioning and we encourage you to keep submitting as the band evolves. During that time you will grow & mature as a musician, senior musicians will turn 25, and the required repertoire may change to suit your strengths too.

ANJO Youth Big Band is an extraordinary thing to be a part of but without our countries leading young musicians, that is YOU, wanting to participate, we don't have a band...so keep working on your craft and throwing your hat in the ring in the hope that you will be successful in the future.
